First time under 10 minutes for inbox/bulk message processing! Even with management tasks included, we only just crept over 10 minutes. Management tasks took a bit longer since I had to create a couple new filters, though I am confident they will help to speed up future email processing.

Time spent processing bulk messages was greatly reduced this week by simplifying the search operators so that all 100 of the bulk messages could be viewed at once. It would not have been nearly as fast if I were limited to viewing 20 messages at a time instead.

It’s a small win this week, but a significant one. True, I still have yet to reach my goal of limiting my exposure to email to 10 minutes per week, but this is as close as I’ve ever gotten. Optimizing the filters and automating as much as possible has resulted in faster processing week after week (for the most part). Hopefully the trend will continue and management will require less and less time as things become more automated.
